Former Pastor in Albion Accused of Embezzling Funds

A former pastor in Albion is accused of embezzling as much as $300,000.

Jason Laws was taken into custody on Friday and is being held in White County Jail in Carmi.  He's a former administrative pastor for the House of Prayer.

Laws faces three separate charges, including a Class X felony charge of theft over $100,000 from a place of worship and two Class 3 felony charges of forgery.  He was being held on a $300,000 bond.
