Today is the final day to file as a candidate for the office of Shelby County Resident Circuit Judge.

The position became vacant due to the death of Judge Allen Bennett of Windsor last month.

Three people had filed as of Monday morning. They are Republicans Amanda Ade-Harlow of Moweaqua and Dennis Atteberry of Shelbyville, and Democrat Gina Vonderheide of Shumway.

Ade-Harlow is serving as an Associate Judge in the circuit, while Vonderheide is serving as Shelby County State's Attorney. Atteberry is an attorney in private practice.
