Arrest of Newton Man on Several Charges

A Newton man was arrested overnight on a series of charges.

Effingham County Chief Deputy Sheriff Paul Kuhns said the arrest followed a domestic disturbance in Dieterich.

32-year-old Eric Fehrenbacher was arrested on counts of aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer, unlawful use of a weapon, and threatening a public official.

Fehrenbacher was in custody at last report. His bond has been set at $50,000.
