The Teutopolis Village Board has agreed to commit local funds toward the cost of a cast iron water main replacement project.

Village Board President Greg Hess said the plan is to replace the water line the entire length of Elm Street, south of the CSX tracks. The project will also involve grant funds to cover the balance of the cost of the work.

Board members also voted to purchase a pickup truck for the street department. The truck was purchased from Northside Ford for $20,890.

The Board also approved Christmas bonuses; $125 for fulltime employees, $100 for part-time staffers.
