Police Department Announces Lieutenant Promotions

Effingham Chief of Police Jeffrey Fuesting has announced the promotion of Todd Ebbert, James Dillow and Jason McFarland from the rank of Sergeant to the rank of Lieutenant.

(LT. TODD EBBERT)

Lieutenant Ebbert is a 28-year police veteran. He has previously served as a patrol officer, detective, and supervisor in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Lieutenant Ebbert is a graduate of Southern Illinois University.

(LT. JAMES DILLOW)

Lieutenant Dillow is a 24-year police veteran. He has previously served as a patrol officer, assistant shift commander, and shift commander. Lieutenant Dillow is a graduate of Lake Land College.

(LT. JASON McFARLAND)

Lieutenant McFarland is an 18-year police veteran. He has previously served as a patrol officer, detective, assistant shift commander, and shift commander. Lieutenant McFarland is a graduate of the FBINA Session 244th.

As part of the reorganization of the police department, the new Lieutenants will transition to new roles serving as Bureau Commanders.

Chief Fuesting said, "I'm proud of the work of all the Lieutenants. Each of them has a wide range of experience and leadership skills that will benefit the entire Department moving forward."
