The bond for area basketball coach Barry Wolfe was reduced to $2 million during an appearance Thursday morning in Coles County Circuit Court.

Wolfe faces 55 counts of either aggravated criminal sexual abuse or criminal sexual assault. The counts stem from alleged actions that occurred while Wolfe was an AAU basketball coach in the area in recent years. There are two alleged victims in the case.

There had been two bonds in effect, one for $500,000, the other for $5,000,000. Judge Brian O'Brien combined the two and then reduced the total bond due.

The judge also stated at the request of prosecutors that the aggravated criminal sexual abuse offenses are non-probationable if Wolfe is found guilty. If Wolfe bonds out, he will be under electronic home confinement, and he would have to surrender his passport.

No trial date has been set. Judge O'Brien said the case is due back in court the afternoon of February 5.
