South Central school board members heard this week that all construction is complete on the addition and renovation project at the high school building in Farina.

Crews are working through the check-off list to make sure things are finished.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will most likely take place after Christmas Break so that all cabinetry and furniture can arrive for the new core of the building. Superintendent Kerry Herdes thanked all involved with the large project that took place within the past six to eight months. The Board also heard an update on the project from EWR Architect Steve Downen and Construction Manager Jon Carroll.

Also at the meeting, the Board heard the State's school report card for the district; hired Ashton Hewkins and Tyler Hartlipp as support staff bus aides; appointed Stephanie Jones and Erica Fox as co-track coaches for the middle school; accepted Jake Skibinski's resignation as 5th grade basketball coach; approved a leave of absence for Misty McCarty retroactive to October; hired Melissa Gramlick as a support staff member; and approved Shawn Lotz as a volunteer coach for the high school boys basketball program.
