Two Killed in Cumberland County Crash

Two people were killed in a weekend crash in Cumberland County.

The crash happened at 1:04pm Sunday on Illinois Route 130 at Cumberland County Road 500 North, south of Greenup.

State police report a pickup truck driven by 35-year-old Jessica Shutts of Greenup crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a pickup truck driven by 60-year-old Tony Guffey of New Harmony, Indiana. Both units left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

Shutts and her passenger, 30-year-old Anthony Scheiner of Paris, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Guffey was injured and was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County where he was later released. 

State police are continunig their investigation into the crash.
