Olney Woman Injured in Car/Deer Crash

An Olney woman was injured after her car struck a deer.

The crash happened in Jasper County at 5:58am Friday a half-mile west of Illinois Route 130, five miles south of Newton.

State police report a car driven by 25-year-old Loretta Beck of Olney struck the deer, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. The car ran off the left side of the roadway, then struck an electric pole guy wire and a telephone pedestal.

Beck was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana.

No citations were issued.
