North Clay Sets New Practice Guidelines

North Clay school board members Wednesday voted 4-3 to set new guidelines for when practices can take place.

The motion approved states "practices shall end at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings. Additionally, no practices or open practices on Sundays with the exception of tournaments that shall have a contest on the following Monday." 

Board members Bible, McKinney, Smith and Carroll voted for the motion, while members Dawkins, Adair and Wilbanks voted against.

The Board was scheduled to discuss an athletic issue, but that was not addressed in open session.

Board members considered a motion to give the administration the authority to hire a coach as needed, but the motion died for lack of a second.

Strategic planning was also on the agenda, but the matter was tabled.
