Effingham Resident Injured in Sunday Afternoon Crash

An Effingham man was injured in a Sunday afternoon crash related to the stormy weather.

26-year-old Matthew E. Brown was traveling southbound on Lake Sara Road at East South Timberlake Avenue at 4pm when he lost control of his pickup truck in a large amount of water on the roadway. The truck ran off the roadway and struck a culvert. 

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports Brown was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
