An early Sunday morning crash in Jasper County injured two people.

State police say the crash occurred at 2:16am in a rural area a mile south of Rose Hill. A car driven by 34-year-old Rebecca Wood of Hidalgo ran off the right side of the roadway into a ditch. The vehicle traveled through the ditch, then overturned onto the passenger side.

Wood had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Wood and her passenger, 39-year-old Brandi Kingery of Effingham, were injured and were transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Wood was cited for DUI alcohol and improper lane usage, and both Wood and Kingery were cited for illegal transportation of alcohol.
