Wolfe Makes First Court Appearance

Barry Wolfe appeared before Judge O'Brien in Coles County Court this morning via closed circuit television.

Wolfe is facing multiple counts of sexual assault, and sexual abuse to minors while serving as a basketball coach for an AAU girls basketball team

Coles County States Attorney Brian Bower requested to modify one of the charges from a class 2 felony to a class 1, which Judge O'Brien approved. If convicted of a Class 1 felony Wolfe could receive a maximum of 15 years with three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Judge O'Brien informed Wolfe that bail would be considered during the next hearing which was scheduled for 9am Thursday, November 2.
