State Representative candidate Blaine Wilhour spoke at the recent meeting of the Effingham Area Tea Party.

Wilhour of rural Beecher City is seeking the Republican nomination for state representative from the 107th District.

Wilhour told those gathered his Christian faith will guide his actions in Springfield. He supports improving the business climate, reforming the tort system and the unemployment system, eliminating legislative pensions, and protecting pro-life and gun rights.

Wilhour vows to promote a tax freeze and a rollback of the 32% income tax hike.

The 35-year-old Wilhour said he has an organization in five counties in the 107th District.

Tea Party members also discussed other candidates for other local and state offices.
