Local historian Dan Wormhoudt focused on the Civil War during his presentation to the Effingham Noon Rotary Club on October 11.

Wormhoudt shared his thoughts on the war and those from Effingham County involved in the conflict. He also shared his five favorite movies produced on the war, with the list headed by Ken Burns' "The Civil War".

Wormhoudt also brought along memorabilia from the war.

Roger Marshall served as Rotary weekly program chairman.

Rotarians also enjoyed a visit from Gabi Maffei, who served as a Rotary student exchange participant from Brazil 13 years ago. She was heading to Italy for a wedding and stopped in Effingham to visit with her former host families.
