Police say two people were hurt when gunshots were fired in the area of 23rd and Conger around 10:00 Monday night. The two were treated and released at area hospitals. Police say no arrests have been made in that case, but several people were interviewed, evidence recovered, and a firearm, narcotics and currency were seized.

Earlier, police responded to the area of South 24th and Logan Street to a report of gunshots fired. The initial investigation indicated subjects in two different vehicles had been involved and multiple shots were fired. One vehicle was struck, but there were no injuries. One person has been arrested in connection with that case. 25-year-old Karim McGee of Mt. Vernon was taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center on preliminary charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The incident occurred at 4:50 Monday afternoon.

Another report of gunshots fired in the area of the 600 block of Lamar Street was received at 10:42 Monday night. Police report no contact with a victim and no evidence was located.
