(BRAD WALDHOFF SPEAKS AT WEDNESDAY MORNING'S VISION 2020 COMMUNITY CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE BREAKFAST)

Brad Waldhoff said the goal of his presentation at Wednesday's Community Celebration of Excellence Breakfast was to highlight his "journey" and those who've helped him along the way.

Waldhoff spoke at Beecher City High School. He is a Beecher City graduate and took time to thank those administrators and teachers who were difference makers in his school years.

Waldhoff, COO of Dieterich Bank, noted that Tuesday was his 46th birthday and that he had been adopted into the home of Leonard and Vicki Waldhoff at birth. He discussed his father and mother, his coaches in baseball, which he loves, and local entrepreneur Jack Schultz.

Waldhoff said Schultz told him he needed to work in larger communities and soak up all of the knowledge he could, in hopes he would bring it back to benefit not only himself but his home county. Schultz's advice worked, and after several years in industry and finding a liking for technology, Waldhoff and his family headed back to Effingham County eight years ago.

At this point, Waldhoff said he hopes to provide direction for younger cohorts to help the bank and the community grow and develop. He welcomed the Effingham County CEO students present and noted he would be a CEO mentor this fall.

Waldhoff also commended his wife, Jamie, who helped spearhead and put into motion the Blessings in a Backpack efforts in Effingham.

The Beecher City Educational Foundation benefits from the breakfast, as $5 from the sale price of each ticket will go toward scholarships for Beecher City students.
