EHS Heading Into Homecoming Week

Effingham High School is heading into Homecoming Week.

This year's theme is Starry Night.

Here's the daily schedule of events:

Monday--Collegiate Day...Homecoming Week activities will kick off with the Powder Puff football game at 2pm.

Tuesday--Dress Like a Teacher

Wednesday--Class Colors Day...the Homecoming Parade will step off at 6:30pm, a half hour later than past years, and will follow the same route...west from 2nd Street on Jefferson Avenue to Cherry Street, south on Cherry to Grove Avenue, and west on Grove to EHS. The parade marshal will be retired Unit 40 Transportation Director Tonna Percival

Thursday--Favorite Star Day (dress like a TV or movie star)

Friday--Spirit Day...there will be assembly at 2:25pm...the Homecoming football game vs. Mahomet-Seymour will kick off at 7pm, with coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen at halftime

Saturday--Homecoming Dance from 8 to 11pm at EHS with doors opening at 7:30pm.

Tickets for the dance will be on sale in the cafeteria during lunch hours until September 27. Tickets are $10. Homecoming photos will be taken by Nathan Loker.

This year's Homecoming Court includes freshmen Morgan Hagler, Isabella Kronewitter, Tristin Duncan and Collin Habing...sophomores Carsyn Bushue, Allison McDevitt, Hayvin Prather and Tate Niebrugge...and juniors Abby Hartke, Payton Koester, Jeremiah Crowell and Donte Latham.

This year's Homecoming Queen contestants are Kaylie Allred, Zoe Bridges, Kourtney Cordes and Grace Lybarger. This year's Homecoming King candidates are Mason Hull, Danny Hortenstine, Lucas Vasquez and Alec Morrissey.
