The Illinois General Assembly has its biggest departure since Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno resigned early this summer.

State Representative Barbara Flynn Currie, the longest-serving woman in the history of the General Assembly, and the first to serve as majority leader in the Illinois House, has decided she won't seek another term.

The 77-year-old Chicago Democrat, a top liuetenant of House Speaker Michael Madigan, says age did not factor into her decision.
