Effingham businessman and former Effingham City Council member Brian Milleville has announced his candidacy for State Representative in the 107th District. The district is currently represented by Republican John Cavaletto of Salem.

The district includes the western part of Effingham County including the City of Effingham as well as all or parts of Marion, Effingham, Fayette, Bond and Clinton counties.

Milleville is running as a Republican. He is a small business owner, general manager of the Econo Lodge in Effingham, and co-founder of the Effingham County Tea Party.

Milleville took Cavaletto to task for Cavaletto's vote to pass an income tax hike in July. Gov. Bruce Rauner vetoed the tax hike plan and Cavaletto later voted to uphold the veto, but the General Assembly overrode the veto.
