Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has made it official. He has gone against the political grain and signed an immigration bill, the Trust Act.

The legislation prevents law enforcement from detaining individuals strictly based on their immigration status. For Rauner, it's a matter of family values. He says the legislation will give immigrants the chance to follow the three keys to success his grandparents always talked about.

Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti says the bill does not transform Illinois into a sanctuary state but instead keeps violent criminals behind bars.
