Erosion at Lake Sara was a topic of discussion this week for the Effingham Water Authority.

Lake resident Dave Henry presented a letter regarding the size of waves at the lake and results they've seen with regard to erosion.

Board members advised their Boating Committee to partner on the issue.

The Board approved a variance in regards to the James and Mary Santangelo property, and awarded a bid for rock to low bidder Heuerman Brothers Trucking.

Brian Larson discussed changes or updates needed on his current lease for the marina. The changes coincide with a replat discussed at July's meeting. Water Authority Attorney Tony Siemer will review the plat information and legal descriptions.

Larson also spoke to the Board about replatting four lots in Northwood Hills into three lots. He said the lots would be much more appealing to potential builders and allow for a more standard floor plan, as well. The Board was in agreement with the proposal. Larson will obtain a plat and discuss the outcome at a future meeting.

The Parks and Rec Committee is moving ahead with plans for a park at the beach. Committee Chairman Tom Ryan gave a general report courtesy of Farnsworth Group. Ryan will keep the Board up to date on plans, surveys and future meetings both on and off site.

The Board also heard from the Fishing Committee. They assisted an Eagle Scout to earn a badge by constructing fish habitats. The committee is also discussing improvements at the kayak launch site.
