North Clay school board members Wednesday celebrated some accomplishments.

Brilee Kessler was named to the Class 1A Illinois Coaches Association's All-State Third Team, and Paige VanDyke was commended on winning State in the FFA Creed Speaking Competition.

It was also noted there will be a new recycling program at North Clay this year dedicated to Connie Krutsinger. The goal is to have a bench made in honor of her. The effort was initiated by NCHS senior Madison Healy.

The Board also continued a discussion with parents regarding transportation of North Clay students for co-op sports with Clay City district. Also, the tentative budget was approved with a public hearing on the measure at a meeting on September 27.

In personnel items, the North Clay board hired Lindsey Wendling as an elementary teacher; accepted the resignation of Christian Taylor as volunteer 5th and 6th grade assistant coach but then hired Taylor as volunteer high school assistant boys basketball coach; and hired Matthew Tolliver as high school assistant baseball coach for the fall season.
