Deadline for First Installment of Property Taxes is Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the deadline to pay at least the first installment of your Effingham County property taxes to avoid a 1-1/2% per month interest penalty for late payment.

You may pay your bill at the County Treasurer's office located on the second floor of the Effingham County Office Building or at any financial institution in the county. 

Please take along your bill when making your payment.

A reminder that there is still time to mail in your first installment payment, as long as it is postmarked as of August 11. This might be an option to consider as some streets and parking areas around the County Office Building will be closing down Friday afternoon for the "Our Town-Effingham" observance.

The second installment of your payment is due by October 13.
