(CLARA WOLF TAKES IN WEDNESDAY'S HORSE RACES AT ALTAMONT ON HER 100TH BIRTHDAY)

What might you do when you turn 100 years old? What about a trip to the horse races?

That's what Clara Wolf of Effingham did Wednesday on the afternoon of her 100th birthday as she was in attendance at the harness racing at the Effingham County Fair at Altamont.

When Clara's daughter, Norma Lansing, mentioned that her mom, who lived for many years in Jasper County, was headed for the races we kept an eye out. During our broadcast of the races on KJ Country 102.3, track announcer Kurt Becker was sure to point out Clara. She was accompanied by plenty of family members, who cheered and applauded along with the rest of the big crowd in the grandstand when Kurt mentioned Clara was in attendance and celebrating the milestone birthday.

When our Greg Sapp told her he thought it was great she spent the afternoon at the races, she replied, "I wouldn't have missed it."
