Brandon Miller has resigned his administrator's job with the Charleston school district to take a teaching job at Cumberland.

Miller will be teaching PE and Driver's Education at Cumberland. It's where he lives and where his children attend school.

Miller has resigned as principal at Mark Twain Elementary School in Charleston. He has served as principal for two years, after working as Charleston High School assistant principal.

Denise Titus was hired to succeed Miller at Mark Twain. Titus has been a teacher and assistant grade school principal at Mattoon.

The Charleston board also acted at a special meeting this week to hire Norman Garrett as Charelston High School athletic director. Garrett taught and coached in public schools in Arizona and is a retired professor at Eastern Illinois University. He succeeds Jim Wood, who left the job in July to become Charleston High School assistant principal.
