A settlement is being finalized between the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Altamont Ambulance Service.

OSHA cited Altamont Ambulance in July 2016 for five willful, 16 serious and three other-than-serious safety and health violations and proposed penalties totaling $290,100. The agency opened inspections in January 2016, after receiving a complaint  alleging violations of OSHA's bloodborne pathogens exposure and various other health and safety standards.

Altamont Ambulance contested the findings. A mandatory mediation took place, and a tentative settlement was reached.

OSHA's Area Director for the Fairview Heights office Aaron Priddy Tuesday said the agency is working with Altamont Ambulance to finalize the settlement. Priddy estimated the settlement will be concluded within the next two weeks.
