A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at Maple and Fayette in Effingham during the noon hour Monday.

City police say the bicycle ridden by 33-year-old Roger Shick, Jr. of Effingham rode into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Oliver Kingery of Effingham.

Police say Shick was injured, but refused treatment.

Shick was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
