Cody Lewis has worked in the Effingham Unit 40 School District for a number of years as a teacher, coach and administrator. Now, he has the opportunity to serve as a building principal.

Lewis was chosen earlier this year as principal of Effingham Junior High School, succeeding Bill Myers who took a principal's job in Beardstown. Lewis has served the past several years as assistant principal at Effingham High School. He is a Cumberland High School graduate.

Greg Sapp spoke with Lewis shortly after he was hired for the principal's position. Here's their conversation...

Lewis' move to the junior high principal's position is one of a number of moves regarding administrative positions in Unit 40. Charlie Schwerman was named assistant junior high principal, as Kurt Roberts moves from that post to become high school principal. McLain Schaefer was hired from Mattoon High School to serve as assistant high school principal.

Roberts moves to EHS since Jason Fox has been named assistant superintendent with the retirement of Rem Woodruff.
