Members of 100+ Women Who Care Effingham County selected the Effingham Child Development Center as the recipient of the $12,700 contribution collected at its second membership meeting of 2017. The gathering took place at Patterson Technology Center in Effingham.

The Effingham Child Development Center is a non-profit organization serving children ages six weeks to 13 years with a variety of activities including preschool, day care, and before- and after-school programs. Shelli French is the director of the Effingham Child Development Center and acted as a spokeswoman for the organization during the giving circle meeting. After being selected as the evening’s recipient, Shelli expressed her gratitude for the contribution, stating "This was such an amazing night. God lined it all up perfectly and gave me the strength to step way out of my comfort zone and to speak to the hearts of 100+ Women Who Care. This is a huge blessing for ECDC and will further our mission to have Open Hearts for All in Effingham County."

100+ Women Who Care Effingham County will make one more contribution in 2017. New members may join at any time throughout the year. The amount of money contributed will increase as new members join. Members join the organization annually and sign a commitment to donate $400 per year. The first $100 commitment supports the 100+ Women Who Care Effingham County Endowment, managed by Effingham County Community Foundation, to address future needs of the community. In addition, every member pledges to donate $100 at each of the meetings for that year (whether they attend or not) to be donated to a selected non-profit organization in Effingham County.

The 100+ Women Who Care Effingham County Endowment is a fund of Effingham County Community Foundation, an affiliate of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation.
