Hartke Hired as Fulltime Sheriff's Deputy

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office has announced the recent hire of Cody A. Hartke as a fulltime Sheriff's Deputy.

Deputy Hartke was born and raised in Effingham County. He graduated from Effingham High School, Lake Land Community College and Eastern Illinois University.

Deputy Hartke was first employed by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office in June of 2012 as a part-time correctional officer. He has served many roles within the department; court bailiff, fulltime telecommunicator and part-time deputy. He has also worked as a part-time police officer for the Altamont Police Department and most recently as a fulltime police officer for the Neoga Police Department.

Deputy Hartke resides in rural Effingham with his fiance Lia and their son Hayden.
