A program about award-winning and innovative architect Frank Lloyd Wright will be presented at the Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library on Thursday, July 27.

(FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT)

J. Stewart Roberts, an architect with Johnson-Roberts Associates in Somerville, Massachusetts, worked on the new Effingham Library building. Growing up in the Midwest, Roberts grew up with an interest in both science and art. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology thinking he would go into chemistry, but when he got there he discovered that he was really interested in architecture, because it combined his interest in engineering and art. As a practicing architect for the past 39 years, Roberts has focused on the design of buildings for communities, with a concentration in public libraries. He has been responsible for the design of over 100 public libraries. Roberts has also had a long-term interest in the work of Architect Frank Lloyd Wright, having studied his life and his designs, and visiting dozens of his buildings.

The program will be presented at 6pm in the library's Workman Room. Registration is required for this program. Register online at EffinghamLibrary.org, call the library at 342-2464 x1 or email info@effinghamlibrary.org
