Cowden-Herrick school board members Thursday voted to reinstate sports transportation for the coming school year.

The Board had voted in May to not offer sports transportation. At that time, the State had not funded categorical expenses such as transportation. Since that time, the district has received two payments for categoricals. That led the Board to change their decision and offer sports transportation for the coming year.

The Cowden-Herrick board also approved a 2% pay increase to the bookkeeper's salary for the coming year, retroactive to July 1. Board members also authorized Superintendent Darrell Gordon to start work on the budget for the coming fiscal year.
