Effingham Native Receives Regional Award

Megan Leonard Doerfler has been named Abe Lincoln Region Board of the Illinois Principal Association Athletic Director of the Year.

Doerfler is the district Athletic Director and Middle School Principal for the New Berlin school district. Doerfler begins her 6th year as AD and Principal with the District. She has previously been named the region’s Middle School Principal of the Year.

All region winners will be honored at an awards reception on August 8 in Decatur.

Doerfler, a 2001 graduate of Effingham High School, resides in New Berlin with her husband James and daughters Addyson and Bryleigh.
