A Farina man has been sentenced to four years in prison.

35-year-old Darrel Moulton was sentenced Wednesday on a count of criminal damage to government-supported property.

Moulton had pleaded guilty to the count in May.

During the sentencing hearing, Moulton reportedly became combative, cursing and trying to leave the courtroom. He also requesting a psychiatric evaluation. The hearing was recessed for several minutes to allow Moulton time to become composed but, when the hearing resumed, Moulton reportedly displayed the same behavior. His attorney attempted to continue the hearing to a later date, but the motion was denied. Judge Don Sheafor eventually told Moulton he would not be allowed to participate in the hearing.

In addition to the prison time, Moulton will serve one year supervised release once out of prison and must make restitution of almost $1,000 for the damage done.

Moulton was arrested on the charge in February.
