Neoga school board members Tuesday received a contribution from the Neoga Sports Boosters and set fees for the coming school year.

The Sports Boosters contributed $45,000, which is half the cost of extra-curricular activities to be offered. This marks the third consecutive year that the Sports Boosters have assisted the District.

There aren't many changes in the fee schedule. Lunch prices did go up by 10 cents to comply with Federal guidelines, and the Health Occs fee rose to $1,368 for the year. However, book and technology fees went down one dollar to an even $100, and lab fees were left unchanged.

The Neoga board approved an interagency agreement with Embarras River Basin Agency for Head Start for the new school year; approved the use of advertising signs on the fence at the junior high baseball field to help cover costs of the program; and approved the same preschool transportation as last year, which involves transporting Project HELP kids to the program operated in the former elementary building in Neoga.

In personnel moves, the Neoga board employed eight teacher aides (Sherry Roy, Mary Sue Cardinal, Whitney Roedl, Holly Koester, Amanda Osborn, Gwen McTeer, Kim Ewing and Roberta Gingerich); employed Julie Fritcher as part-time guidance counselor; hired Adam Stults as fall and spring high school baseball head coach, Maureen Letizia as high school volleyball coach, and Susan Hutchinson as high school assistant volleyball coach; accepted the resignation due to retirement of Terri Hoelscher as high school secretary effective December 31; and approved Lee Ann Stuckemeyer as non-paid volunteer swim coach, and Terry Althoff as non-paid volunteer bass fishing coach.
