A weekend crash near Montrose injured two people.

State police report the crash occurred at 12:34pm Sunday on I-70 eastbound, two miles west of Montrose. A car driven by 27-year-old Mathew Simmers of Warsaw, Ohio was traveling behind a SUV driven by 40-year-old Kasey Duffens-Carraher of Cincinnati, Ohio. Traffic had slowed due to a construction zone with vehicles merging into the driving lane. Simmers was unable to slow in time and rear-ended the SUV.

Duffens-Carraher was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. A passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Keegan Duffens of Cincinnati, was injured, but refused treatment at the scene and said he would go on his own for treatment.
