Rosie Wins Dieterich Turtle Race in Photo Finish

You might have heard about the fireworks and the big parade Tuesday in Dieterich as part of the village's 4th of July celebration, but did you hear about the photo finish in the turtle races?

It's true; "Rosie" nosed out "Red Stripe" for top honors. "Speedy" came in third.

Dieterich Village Clerk Brittny Gipson said her husband viewed video of the race frame-by-frame to officially determine that Rosie was the winner Aliza Brummer is Rosie's owner, while Brody Nelson owns Red Stripe. Gipson's son, Logan, owns Speedy.
