Noon Rotary Holds 2017 Changeover Ceremony

Effingham Noon Rotary Club held its changeover week ceremony to mark the start of the new Rotary year.

Local attorney Kaye Dent has taken over as club president, succeeding retiring president and Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library Director Amanda McKay.

The new president was sworn into office by Rotary District #6490 Governor Larry Howell.

Club members were informed about the recent Rotary International Convention held in Atlanta, Georgia. Assistant District Governor and Noon Club member Carrie Crippen attended the convention and shared information on progress in the battle against polio via information from wrestler John Cena and philanthropist Bill Gates.

The Club also recognized those with one year or more of perfect attendance. They include (LEFT TO RIGHT): Dave Ring, Ron Schettler, Tonya Siner, Mike Varady, Lois Hoene, Charles Davis, Carrie Crippen, Jim Rutledge and Amanda McKay.
