The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, "The Wall That Heals", a half-scale replica of the memorial in Washington, DC, will visit Clay County this week.

Accompanying the wall replica is a mobile Education Center that displays the photos of service members whose names are found on The Wall, along with powerful letters and memorabilia left at The Wall in Washington.

The Wall is open to the public 24 hours on the grounds of Floyd Henson Junior High School at 609 N. Stanford Road in Flora (located at US Route 50 and North Stanford Road, near Clay County Hospital). For more information, visit the website: www.frankandbright.com 

Here's the schedule:

Wednesday, July 5--10am--The escort for The Wall That Heals arrival begins at Sandoval Junior-Senior High School...10:45-11am--approximate arrival time at Floyd Henson Junior High School in Flora...7pm--Open to visitors (24 hours) until the Sunday Closing ceremony

Thursday, July 6--7pm--Welcome Ceremony with participation from local veterans groups

Friday, July 7--7pm--Community Band Concert featuring patriotic music

Saturday, July 8--10am--Missing Man Table Ceremony by Rolling Thunder, Illinois 3...7pm--Quilts of Valor Award Ceremony...Dusk to 11pm--Candlelight Vigil (no formal ceremony, arrive at any time

Sunday, July 9--1:30pm--Closing Ceremony
