North Clay Unit 25 Board Meeting

LOUISVILLE -- North Clay Community Unit 25 board met Tuesday evening and discussed aligning several policies for the upcoming school year.

In new business, the Board approved an easement for Ameren to place electricity on district property, approved and amended calendar for the 2017-18 school year to reflect school improvement early dismissals, adopted the fiscal year of July 2, 2017 through June 30, 2018 and continue all policies, contracts and programs in force on June 30, 2017.

The Board also adopted prevailing wage scale for the 2017-18 school year, approved Jessica Guzman on Clay County State Bank account effective July 1, 2017 and approved advertising for bids on milk and bread for the 2017-18 school year.

The Board went into closed session at 7:20 p.m. and came back to open session at 9:45 p.m. where they accepted the resignation of Terry Branch as Ag teacher effective the end of the 2016-17 school year and gave appreciation for his years of service to the district.

The Board hired Kelly Carruthers as a substitute bus driver upon completion of his requirements, hired Brian Deadmond as assistant principal/athletic director for the 2017-18 school year, hired Kaitlin Zink as physical education teacher for the 2017-18 school year, hired Roy Taylor as high school assistant boys basketball coach for the 2017-18 school year, hired Janessa Dawkins as high school assistant volleyball coach and junior high head volleyball coach for the 2017-18 school year and hired Jacob Kueker as physical education teacher and junior high head boys basketball coach for the 2017-18 school year.

The board also accepted the resignation of Kaitlin Zink as junior high head volleyball coach effective the end of the school year, accepted the resignation of Roy Taylor as fifth/sixth grade basketball coach effective the end of the 2016-17 school year and approved Rendell Flood as student teacher with Brian Wattles for the first semester of the 2017-18 school year.
