An Effingham man has been sentenced to two years in prison on drug charges.

21-year-old Christopher Griffith pleaded guilty to a count of possession of methamphetamine.

Griffith was arrested with two other people earlier this year after police served a search warrant on a house in the 900 block of West St. Anthony and found the three inside the house. City police chief Jeff Fuesting said there was meth paraphernalia and currency found in the house believed related to the sale of narcotics.

As for the other defendants, 24-year-old Kaitlin Mahon of Watson is next due in court on Tuesday while her trial is set to begin July 3, and 26-year-old Mitchel Dunigan of Effingham is due in court for a pre-trial hearing on July 5.
