Lengthy prison terms have been returned in two Fayette County criminal cases.

32-year-old Ramsey resident Christopher Scholes was sentenced to 12 years in prison on counts of home invasion and criminal trespass to residence.

Fayette County State's Attorney Joshua Morrison said Scholes had been given notice not to be at a home in Ramsey. Scholes instead entered the home and punched the resident in the mouth. The resident was left beaten and bruised.

Scholes was found guilty by a Fayette County jury on March 27. He was sentenced June 9.

56-year-old William Frakes of Vandalia was sentenced to prison on three counts of child pornography.

Morrison said three photos were found in Frakes' possession, leading to the three counts. He said, though, that Frakes' wife testified during a trial in February that he had five laptops and was never without one when he went on trips.

Morrison believes a different child was depicted in each photo.

Frakes was sentenced June 9 to seven years on one count, seven years on another count, and four years in prison on the third count. The sentences will run consecutively, not together.
