Crashes w/Injuries in Effingham Over Weekend

Effingham city police investigated crashes involving injuries over the weekend.

One crash actually involved two separate incidents.

Police report a vehicle driven by 16-year-old William Kabbes of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Joshua Weiscope of Newton north of the intersection of Keller Drive and Evergreen Avenue at 10:32pm Saturday.

A passenger in Weiscope's vehicle, 44-year-old June Weiscope of Newton, was injured, but refused treatment. No citations were issued.

While leaving the scene of that crash, Kabbes backed into a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Leah Ray of Effingham. No one was injured and no citations were issued.

A crash resulting in injuries occurred at 11:33am Friday at the intersection of Keller Drive and Thelma Keller Avenue. 

Police report a vehicle driven by 76-year-old Ronald Holtz of Olney struck a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Chad Sutton of Sullivan.

Holtz was injured and was taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Holtz was cited for failure to yield.
