Watson Homecoming Planned Saturday and Sunday

The 2017 Watson Homecoming is set for Saturday and Sunday.

Highlights Saturday will include a breakfast in Watson Civic Center at 7:30am, memorial services at 8:30am at Watson Cemetery, food and craft vendors and kids activities throughout the day, a garden tractor pull with weigh-in starting at 10am and competition beginning at 11am, a cake walk at noon, a Karoake contest from 1 to 4:30pm, the Homecoming Parade at 4pm with lineup beginning at 3:30pm in the Watson Baptist Church parking lot, lawn mower races at 5pm, and bands Tress and the Mixers and 3 River Roll playing from 7 to 10:30pm.

The fireworks display will begin at 9pm with Lynzee Hagen presented the National Anthem.

Sunday activities will include a community church service at 10am led by Pastor Jim Whitaker of Watson United Methodist Church, bounce houses and carnival games from 10am to 5pm, a chicken and ham dinner in the Civic Center from 11am to 1pm, food and craft vendors from 10am to 9pm, a talent show in the pavilion at 1pm, a watermelon and hot dog eating contest at 2:30, a cake walk at 3pm, and a raffle for prizes at 4:30pm. Other events will include Bingo in the Civic Center, a cornhole competition at 2pm, and the Watson Homecoming Pageant at 5:30pm. Two bands, Benny and the Amigos and Firebox, will round out the entertainment from 6:30 to 9:30pm.
