An Edgewood man has entered a guilty plea to a drug charge.

41-year-old Donnie Loy was arrested about one year ago on a Class X felony count of methamphetamine possession after a house fire in Edgewood. In court Friday, Loy pleaded guilty to the charge, which includes mandatory prison time. The Class X sentence usually ranges from six to 30 years in prison, but prosecutors agreed to a cap of 14 years as far as a maximum sentence and presiding judge Kimberly Koester agreed to the cap. A sentencing hearing will be held later.
