The Neoga school board has decided on who to name to their vacant board seat, but couldn't act on it at a special meeting Wednesday night.

The person chosen to fill the seat was not able to attend, so the Board will act to fill the vacancy at their next meeting.

The Board contracted with Christy Elder for school psychologist services for the coming school year, and hired Mike Taylor to fill the newly-created position of Grades K-12 Dean of Students and Athletic Director. Taylor succeeds Jeff Wooters as Athletic Director. Wooters was recently named principal at Brownstown High School. The Dean of Students position was established as part of an administrative restructuring at Neoga.

The Neoga board also hired Angela Strohl as a junior high Science teacher, tabled action on naming a junior high Scholar Bowl sponsor, named Julie Fritcher as junior high volleyball coach, and approved the retirement of Pat Thompson as a fifth grade teacher.
