A semi was stopped Wednesday morning by Illinois State Police, but nothing was found amiss.

A listener let us know that the rig had been traveling westbound on I-70 when several squad cars began traveling with the semi. The squad cars and the rig exited the interstate at Altamont, then got back on the interstate and headed back east toward Effingham.

District 12 State Police at Effingham reported that a trooper made a motor carrier inspection stop on the rig, and a K-9 taken to the scene alerted on the vehicle for the presence of drugs. The rig was turned around and brought back to the District 12 Post for further inspection, but nothing was found and the rig and driver were sent on their way.

Thanks to the listener who let us know of the incident.
