The Effingham County Board will meet in special session Tuesday afternoon to finalize a contract for ambulance service and a settlement with Altamont Ambulance Service.

The Board will meet at 3pm at the Effingham County Office Building across from the Courthouse Museum, in the third floor Board meeting room.

The Board will first meet in closed session to discuss the final contract and any matters of litigation, then move into open session where action is expected on the ambulance contract and the settlement.

The Board is expected to contract with Abbott Ambulance to take over emergency calls in the county, while the settlement will be finalized with Altamont Ambulance, the current emergency service provider.

Those are the only items on the special meeting agenda.

The meeting will be open to the public.
