Olney resident Glen Ramey has been granted a jury trial to determine his fitness.

The 54-year-old Ramey is charged in Richland County with first degree murder and predatory criminal sexual assault. The charges stem from the Thanksgiving Eve death of eight-year-old Sabrina Stauffenberg in Olney.

Ramey has been examined by Dr. Jerry Boyd as to his fitness. The evaluation by Dr.Boyd has been ordered to remain sealed for the time being.

In court Friday morning, a defense motion was filed to move Ramey's trial out of Richland County. Court officials will talk with the chief judge to determine in which county the fitness jury trial will take place. A status hearing is set for June 8 to determine the status of the case and to decide where the fitness jury trial will be held.
